Recently, a delegation of faculty and students from Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (SIGS) visited Kexin Technology. Led by Professor Fu Hongyan, representatives from SIGS student chapters of three photonics societies including SPIE, IEEE Photonics Society and OPTICA held in-depth discussions with Kexin Technology on industry development trends, technological innovation and talent cultivation.
Discussion Session: From Academic Frontiers to Industrial Practice
During the forum, Gao Zhengxian, CTO of Kexin Technology, extended a warm welcome to the SIGS visitors. He gave a comprehensive introduction to the company’s business layout, core technologies and future strategic directions in the field of communication network energy. Drawing on the current industry landscape, he shared the opportunities and challenges facing the communication energy sector, encouraging students to closely integrate academic research with industrial demands.
Professor Fu Hongyan presented the latest research progress of his team in integrated optoelectronics and communication applications. He stated that this visit would serve as an opportunity to further advance in-depth university-enterprise collaboration in scientific research and talent development.
In the Q&A session, students raised questions actively and engaged in thorough discussions on bottlenecks in fast-charging technology. They exchanged views with Mr. Gao on key technical topics such as charging efficiency, thermal management and material systems. Afterwards, students reflected on the gaps between theoretical academic research and real industrial applications: what hurdles must be overcome to translate lab achievements into large-scale mass production? What technical capabilities do enterprises value most? Mr. Gao responded to each question based on the company’s R&D experience. He encouraged students to build a solid theoretical foundation while focusing on engineering challenges in real industrial scenarios.
In addition, the two sides exchanged ideas on career planning. Mr. Gao outlined talent requirements and career growth paths within the communication energy industry. He advised students to develop interdisciplinary perspectives during their studies, and welcomed outstanding SIGS students to join Kexin Technology in the future to drive technological transformation across the industry.
Exhibition Hall Tour: Experiencing Industry Dynamics
Following the discussion, the faculty and students toured the company exhibition hall to learn about Kexin Technology’s products and solutions for wireless network energy, data center energy and other sectors. Guided by on-site explanations and physical exhibits, the students gained a more intuitive understanding of technical developments, market trends and typical application scenarios in the communication energy industry.
This exchange deepened SIGS faculty and students’ understanding of the communication energy industry and laid a solid foundation for future scientific research cooperation and talent training between both parties. Going forward, Kexin Technology will continue to deepen university-enterprise partnerships, jointly explore industry frontiers with academic institutions, and support high-quality industrial development.
