The first phase of China Mobile's Lhasa data center in Lhasa High-tech Zone, Tibet was recently announced to be completed and put into production.
The data center has a total investment of 739 million yuan. It is a key project in Lhasa High-tech Zone and a key construction project in the "14th Five-Year Plan" of China Mobile Tibet Company.
It is understood that the China Mobile Lhasa data center started construction in March 2020. The project covers a total area of about 63 acres and will be constructed in two phases, including 2 data center computer rooms, 2 power centers, and 1 maintenance support room, all completed. After that, 6,600 cabinets can be provided, which will effectively improve the informatization service capability of Tibet.
According to the previous information of China Mobile Tibet Company, the first phase of the Lhasa data center was built according to the national A-level standard, and can provide 3319 cabinets after completion.
Li Jiangbo, head of relevant departments of China Mobile Tibet Company, said: "The Lhasa data center will provide enterprise cloud services for small and medium-sized enterprises, change the traditional operation mode of enterprises, help enterprises transform and upgrade from low-cost strategy to innovation-driven, save money production costs, and enhance the core competitiveness of enterprises.”
It is understood that the center will work together with emerging technologies such as China Mobile's 5G network, Internet of Things, cloud computing and big data, to help the informatization and digital development of Lhasa and Tibet take off.
